Strawberry Cheesecake Treat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake Base & Filling

01 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (use pure, not imitation for the best flavor)
02 - ½ cup granulated white sugar
03 - ½ cup butter, melted and smooth
04 - 15 ounces of yellow cake mix (just grab a standard box)
05 - 8 ounces of cream cheese, left out to soften on the counter
06 - 2 cups of fresh strawberries, cleaned and sliced into smaller pieces
07 - 1 cup milk, set out to get to room temp

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to warm up to 350°F (175°C). This step makes sure your cake bakes nice and evenly.
02 - Thoroughly coat your baking dish with butter or oil to keep the cake from sticking.
03 - In a mixing bowl, use a whisk or mixer to combine your softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until you’ve got a creamy, smooth consistency.
04 - Mix the yellow cake mix, milk, and melted butter in another bowl. Stir everything together until the batter looks creamy and lump-free.
05 - Pour half of the cake batter into the baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Add a layer of fresh strawberries, followed by spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture. Top it all off with the remaining batter and another sprinkle of strawberries to finish.
06 - Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

# Notes:

01 - Using strawberries that are in season makes all the difference—they’ll be sweeter and bring the flavor to life!
02 - If you want to add some pop to the cream cheese, try grating in a little fresh lemon zest.
