Pear Vanilla Gin Drink (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pear Vanilla Syrup

01 - 1 cup Bartlett pears, smashed or diced small
02 - ½ cup natural sugar
03 - ½ cup water
04 - ¼ cup vanilla syrup

→ For One Cocktail

05 - 45ml (1½ oz) gin
06 - 2 tablespoons pear vanilla syrup
07 - ¾ cup soda water
08 - Crushed ice, to finish

# Instructions:

01 - Smash or dice the pears into tiny bits. Throw pears, sugar, water, and vanilla syrup into a small pot over medium heat.
02 - Let the mixture bubble up, then lower heat and cook for 5-8 minutes until the liquid gets golden and pears soften up. Keep stirring so everything cooks the same.
03 - Take off heat and pour through a strainer into a container. Push down with a spoon to get all the juice out of the pear bits.
04 - Toss the leftover pear stuff or blend it up for extra flavor if you want. Let the syrup cool down completely before you use it.
05 - In an 8 oz glass, mix 45ml gin with 2 tablespoons of your pear vanilla syrup and stir well. Pour in ¾ cup soda water, add crushed ice on top, and give it a gentle stir.

# Notes:

01 - Try coating the rim with sugar and bits of vanilla bean to make this drink look extra fancy.
