Crispy fries piled with seasoned beef, gravy, and cheese for a savory Tex Mex comfort dish.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fries and Cheese

01 - 900 grams (2 pound) bag crinkle-cut frozen french fries
02 - 475 milliliters (2 cups) Tex Mex grated cheese blend, plus additional if desired

→ Beef Mixture

03 - 28 grams (2 tablespoons) olive oil
04 - 450 grams (1 pound) lean ground beef
05 - 85 grams (1/2 medium yellow onion), sliced
06 - 14 grams (2 tablespoons) taco seasoning
07 - 60 milliliters (1/4 cup) water

→ Gravy

08 - 475 milliliters (2 cups) water
09 - 50 grams (2 packets, 25 grams each) brown gravy mix

# Directions:

01 - Arrange crinkle-cut frozen french fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and cook according to package instructions until golden and crisp.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Add sliced onion and continue to cook, stirring and breaking the meat into small pieces.
03 - Once the beef is browned and the onion is tender, sprinkle taco seasoning over the mixture and pour in water. Stir well to combine, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.
04 - In a small saucepan, whisk together brown gravy mix with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Lower heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
05 - Place a layer of hot fries onto serving plates. Spoon a portion of the beef mixture evenly over the fries. Scatter grated Tex Mex cheese blend over the beef, then ladle hot brown gravy on top.
06 - Serve while hot to ensure cheese melts and the dish maintains optimal texture.

# Notes:

01 - For extra crispiness, bake fries an additional 3–5 minutes beyond package directions. Use a mix of Monterey Jack, cheddar, and pepper jack cheese for best flavor.
