01 -
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1.25 cm thick. Create a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
02 -
Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the cooking surface. Cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 71°C. During the final minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover to facilitate melting.
03 -
Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
04 -
Spread your choice of mayonnaise, ketchup, or teriyaki glaze on the bottom bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, and onion slices. Place the cheesy burger patty on top, then crown with the top bun.

Serve immediately with your preferred side dishes.
