# What You'll Need:

→ Filling

01 - 1 pound ground beef (85-90% lean)
02 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
07 - 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
08 - 1/2 cup dill pickle chips, roughly chopped (optional)
09 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

→ Topping and Batter

10 - 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
11 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
12 - 1 cup whole milk
13 - 2 large eggs

→ To Prepare Dish

14 - Cooking spray or butter for greasing

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray or butter.
02 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
03 - Add salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to skillet. Stir and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in chopped dill pickles if using.
04 - Spread beef mixture evenly in prepared pie dish. Scatter shredded cheddar cheese uniformly over meat mixture.
05 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, whole milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour batter evenly over meat and cheese layer.
06 - Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until top is golden brown and set.
07 - Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

# Notes:

01 - Using sharp cheddar enhances the flavor; allow the pie to set slightly before slicing for cleaner portions.
