Date Oat Morning Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Mix

01 - 1 cup oat flour
02 - 1 cup rolled oats
03 - 3/4 cup almond flour
04 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
05 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
06 - 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
07 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

→ Wet Mix

08 - 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
09 - 5 tablespoons water
10 - 1/2 cup almond butter
11 - 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
12 - 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
13 - 1/4 cup maple syrup
14 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
15 - 1 teaspoon orange zest

→ Add-ins

16 - 1/2 cup chopped dates (around 6-7 pitted dates)

# Instructions:

01 - Get your oven hot at 350°F (175°C). Put parchment paper on two baking trays.
02 - Mix flaxseed with water in a small bowl. Wait about 5 minutes till it gets thick.
03 - Throw oat flour, rolled oats, almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a big bowl. Mix them up well.
04 - In another bowl, stir together your flax mix, almond butter, melted coconut oil, applesauce, maple syrup, vanilla and orange zest until smooth.
05 - Add wet stuff to dry stuff and stir just enough to combine. Drop in chopped dates and fold them in gently.
06 - Drop dough balls on your lined trays using a big cookie scoop or 1/4 cup. Keep them 2 inches apart. Bake for 20-23 minutes until edges turn light brown.
07 - Let the cookies sit on the tray a few minutes. Then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
08 - Put cooled cookies in an airtight box. They'll stay good for a week.

# Notes:

01 - These morning treats are loaded with fiber and protein, so they'll keep you full till lunch.
02 - Don't cook them too long. They should stay a bit soft in the middle for the best taste.
