01 -
Slice the mozzarella into thick sticks, each about 3–4 cm wide and 8 cm long. Arrange them on a tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
02 -
Set up three shallow bowls—one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
03 -
Coat each mozzarella stick first in flour, tapping off any excess. Dip into the egg wash, ensuring full coverage, then press into the seasoned bread crumb mixture to coat completely.
04 -
For a thicker, crunchier crust, repeat the egg wash and bread crumb coating for each stick.
05 -
Heat 5 cm of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 175°C. Fry the coated cheese sticks in batches, without overcrowding, for 2–3 minutes per batch or until crisp and golden.
06 -
Transfer fried sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool slightly.
07 -
Arrange hot mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and offer with marinara sauce on the side.
