Salty Honeycrisp Fritters (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Batter Mix

01 - 1 tablespoon melted butter
02 - 3 cups chopped and peeled Honeycrisp apples
03 - 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
04 - 2/3 cup milk
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - Pinch of nutmeg, freshly ground
07 - 1 1/2 cups regular flour
08 - 2 eggs, beaten lightly
09 - 2 teaspoons of raising powder
10 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
11 - 1/2 teaspoon table salt
12 - Canola or vegetable oil for frying

→ Sweet Glaze

13 - 1/4 cup milk
14 - 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
15 - 2 cups powdered sugar
16 - Sea salt flakes to finish

# Instructions:

01 - Pour a few inches worth of oil into a big saucepan. Heat it gently on medium-low heat till it hits 350°F (175°C). Get a plate ready with some paper towels.
02 - Blend all the dry stuff (flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar) in one bowl. In another smaller bowl, stir together the milk, eggs, vanilla, and butter. Slowly mix the wet into the dry until combined. Finally, stir the apple pieces into the batter.
03 - Once the oil's hot, spoon out batter (about 1/4 cup for each fritter) into the oil. Fry them in small batches (1-2 at a time) for about 3–4 minutes until they’re golden, flipping occasionally. Carefully pick them up using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain off oil. Repeat until all batter is used.
04 - Combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl and whisk till it’s smooth. If you need it runnier for dipping, slowly mix in extra milk, one teaspoon at a time.
05 - After the fritters have cooled for a little, dip them in your freshly made glaze. Place them onto parchment paper and sprinkle with flaky sea salt right away. Serve still warm for the best taste.

# Notes:

01 - For the tastiest experience, enjoy these while still warm.
02 - Adding the sea salt gives a great balance to the sweet glaze.
