# What You'll Need:

→ Seafood

01 - 1 pound medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed

→ Pasta

02 - 1 pound spaghetti, uncooked

→ Aromatics

03 - 6 to 8 garlic cloves, finely minced

→ Fats

04 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
05 - 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

→ Seasonings

06 - Italian seasoning, to taste
07 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
08 - Red pepper flakes, to taste
09 - Fine sea salt, to taste

→ Herbs

10 - Fresh herbs, optional, chopped, to taste

# Directions:

01 - Fill a large pot with water, season generously with salt, and bring to a rolling boil. Add a drizzle of olive oil and fresh herbs if using. Add uncooked spaghetti and boil until al dente, approximately 9 to 11 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain pasta and set aside.
02 - While pasta cooks, rinse shrimp under cold water and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
03 - In a large skillet over medium heat, melt unsalted butter. Add prepared shrimp and sauté until beginning to turn pink and curl, about 2 to 3 minutes.
04 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and continue cooking with the shrimp for 5 to 7 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and fully opaque.
05 - Drizzle in remaining olive oil. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet with shrimp. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and fine sea salt. Pour in 1/4 cup reserved pasta water and toss to combine, adding more pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
06 - Toss mixture over medium heat until pasta is evenly coated and heated through. Garnish with additional chopped fresh herbs if desired and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Use freshly grated Parmesan or lemon zest for added flavor if desired; be cautious not to overcook the shrimp as they become rubbery when overdone.
