05 - 250 grams all-purpose flour
06 - 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
07 - 1 teaspoon sea salt or fleur de sel
08 - Sea salt for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C and line baking trays with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat softened French butter with granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
03 - Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture; mix until fully combined and smooth.

05 - Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture, stirring continuously until dough forms.
06 - Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
07 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls. Arrange on prepared trays, spacing 5 cm apart.
08 - Sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt onto each dough ball for enhanced flavour.
09 - Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden and centres remain soft.
10 - Allow cookies to cool on trays for several minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

# Notes:

01 - Chilling the dough is essential for well-shaped cookies and prevents excessive spreading during baking.
