Fig Goat Cheese Pinwheels (Print View)

Flaky pastry, sweet figs, and tangy goat cheese create a savory-sweet bite, perfect for gatherings.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

→ Filling

02 - 1/2 cup fig preserves
03 - 4 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
04 - 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
05 - 4 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves removed
06 - 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, crushed (optional)

→ Finishing

07 - 1 egg, beaten

# Directions:

01 - Thaw the puff pastry sheet fully and arrange it on parchment paper over a clean, flat surface.
02 - Evenly spread fig preserves over the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border along all edges.
03 - Scatter crumbled goat cheese, light brown sugar, and thyme leaves across the fig layer. If desired, sprinkle crushed walnuts or pecans for added texture.
04 - Tightly roll the pastry into a log shape. Wrap in parchment paper and place in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm for easier slicing.
05 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Slice the chilled log into 1/2-inch rounds and set them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
06 - Brush each pinwheel with beaten egg. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and crisp.

# Notes:

01 - For clean cuts, use a sharp knife and allow the rolled pastry to chill thoroughly before slicing.
