Custard Oatmeal with Honey (Print View)

# What You'll Need:

→ Base

01 - 100 grams rolled oats
02 - 375 millilitres milk or plant-based milk
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - Pinch of salt

07 - Fresh berries
08 - Sliced bananas
09 - Chopped nuts

# Directions:

01 - Combine rolled oats, milk, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the oats begin to absorb the liquid.
02 - In a separate bowl, thoroughly whisk the egg with honey and vanilla extract until smooth.
03 - Once the oatmeal has thickened and most of the milk is absorbed, reduce heat to low. Gradually pour in the egg mixture while stirring constantly to prevent curdling.
04 - Continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring gently, until the oatmeal is rich and custard-like in texture.
05 - Remove from heat. Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with fresh berries, sliced bananas, and chopped nuts as desired.
