01 -
In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese using your hands or a sturdy spoon. Mix until the ingredients are evenly incorporated, avoiding overmixing.
02 -
Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into hamburger patties of uniform size and thickness. Press a shallow dimple in the center of each patty to prevent doming during cooking.
03 -
Preheat the grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat. Grill the patties to your preferred doneness, flipping carefully to maintain patty integrity. For medium-rare, cook to 54-57°C; for medium, 60-63°C; for well-done, 71°C. Use a thermometer to check doneness and avoid pressing down on the patties to retain moisture. Allow the patties to rest briefly after cooking.
04 -
Place each patty on a hamburger bun and garnish with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayonnaise. Add optional toppings such as pickles, onions, or avocado as desired. Serve immediately.
