Golden toasts layered with savory mushrooms, creamy cheese, and garlic for irresistible flavor in every bite.

# What You'll Need:

→ Bread

01 - 4 slices crusty bread, such as sourdough or baguette

→ Mushroom Mixture

02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
04 - 2 cups sliced mushrooms, such as cremini or button
05 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme, optional
07 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Cheese and Garnish

08 - 1 cup shredded cheese, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend
09 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
10 - 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese, optional

# Directions:

01 - Set oven to 375°F. Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp, or use a toaster if preferred.
02 - While toasting bread, heat olive oil with butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release moisture and turn golden brown, about 7-8 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and dried thyme, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
03 - Spoon the warm mushroom mixture evenly over each toasted bread slice. Top each with shredded cheese and optional Parmesan, distributing evenly.
04 - Position the baking sheet under the oven broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling. Monitor closely to prevent over-browning.
05 - Remove the toasts from the oven. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately as a warm snack or appetizer.

# Notes:

01 - Choose mushrooms of similar size for even sautéing and avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper browning.
