Easy Cast Iron Skillet Pizza (Print View)

Crispy dough, melted cheese, and toppings baked to perfection in a cast iron skillet.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dough and Oil

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 12 ounces pizza dough, room temperature

→ Cheese and Sauce

03 - 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
04 - 1/2 cup pizza sauce

→ Toppings

05 - Desired pizza toppings

# Directions:

01 - Adjust one oven rack to the lowest position and another to the top. Preheat oven to 450°F.
02 - Coat the bottom and sides of a cast iron skillet evenly with olive oil. Stretch pizza dough to fill the pan, dimpling with fingers to form the base.
03 - Distribute shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, extending to the edges. Spoon pizza sauce over the cheese, spreading to the edges.
04 - Arrange preferred toppings on top. Bake on the bottom oven rack for 18 to 20 minutes until the crust underside is golden and the cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Check browning by lifting an edge with a spatula; continue baking if needed.
05 - For a more browned top, move skillet to the upper rack and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
06 - Place skillet on a wire rack briefly. Run a sharp knife around the pan edge to loosen the crust, then transfer pizza to a cutting board with a spatula. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Allow pizza dough to reach room temperature for easier stretching and better texture.
