Easy Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls (Print View)

Soft crescent rolls baked with caramel apple filling and finished with creamy brown sugar frosting.

# What You'll Need:

→ Filling

01 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
02 - 2 cups diced Granny Smith apples
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ Rolls

05 - 1 can crescent roll dough (8 count)

→ Frosting

06 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
07 - 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
08 - 2 to 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
09 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone liner.
02 - Melt butter in a small skillet over low-medium heat. Add diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until apples turn just translucent, about 15 minutes. Allow mixture to cool for at least 10 minutes.
03 - Unroll crescent dough onto a cutting board, maintaining a rectangular shape. Press seams together to seal. Evenly spread apple filling over the dough surface.
04 - Tightly roll the dough from the longer side to form a log. Slice into 8 equal pieces using a serrated knife. Arrange pieces on the prepared baking sheet, spacing as desired.
05 - Bake rolls for 15 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown on top and cooked through.
06 - While rolls bake, melt butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, whisk in powdered sugar, then add vanilla and 2 tablespoons heavy cream. If needed, add additional cream to achieve desired consistency.
07 - Allow rolls to cool slightly before drizzling with frosting. Serve warm.

# Notes:

01 - For a faster topping, substitute prepared caramel ice cream sauce for the homemade frosting.
