Effortless Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken (Print View)

Chicken breasts get extra juicy in a skillet with garlicky buttery sauce and honey, for a meal packed with sweet and savory flavors.

# What You'll Need:

→ Protein

01 - 4 skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless

→ Aromatics

02 - Minced garlic from 4 cloves
03 - Optional: Caramelized onions for extra flavor

→ Sauce

04 - 1 cup chicken stock
05 - 4 tablespoons of butter, split up
06 - 1 teaspoon dried parsley
07 - A pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper
08 - 2 tablespoons honey
09 - 1 teaspoon of paprika

→ Garnish

10 - Optional: Shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese

# Directions:

01 - Sprinkle salt, ground black pepper, and paprika over both sides of the chicken pieces.
02 - Set a large pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Place the chicken in and cook until fully cooked and browned on each side, roughly 5-6 minutes per side depending on thickness. Move chicken out and set aside.
03 - In the same pan, melt the rest of the butter. Toss in the garlic and let it cook for 30-60 seconds until its aroma comes through, but don’t let it darken.
04 - Add chicken stock and honey to the pan. Scrape up any bits on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon so they mix into the sauce.
05 - Put the chicken pieces back into the pan and coat them with the sauce. Keep cooking uncovered for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken slightly.
06 - If using cheese, sprinkle it on top of the chicken, then cover for a brief moment to let it melt.
07 - Sprinkle dried parsley over everything before serving. Feel free to add caramelized onions for garnish if you want a boost of flavor.

# Notes:

01 - Adding caramelized onions in the last step makes the dish richer, so prepare them earlier if you'd like.
