# Ingredients:

→ Making the Dough

01 - 3 ¼ cups (400g) plain flour
02 - 1/4 cup (50g) white sugar
03 - 1/2 tsp (3g) table salt
04 - 2 ¼ tsp (7g) dry active yeast, or 25g fresh yeast
05 - 1 cup (240ml) warm milk, set aside a bit for mixing
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
08 - 1/4 cup (56g) softened butter

→ Cream Cheese Mixture

09 - 10 oz (300g) cream cheese
10 - 1 egg
11 - 3 tbsp (24g) icing sugar
12 - 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract

→ To Finish It Off

13 - Fresh blueberries
14 - 1 egg, for brushing the edges
15 - Powdered sugar for dusting, optional

# Instructions:

01 - In a big bowl, stir the yeast with a teaspoon of sugar and about a quarter cup of warm milk. Leave it for 5 minutes to foam up and activate.
02 - Toss in the rest of the ingredients—flour, the remaining sugar, salt, the rest of the milk, an egg, vanilla, and softened butter. Give everything a good knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough feels silky and doesn’t stick to the bowl.
03 - Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with some plastic wrap and leave it in a cozy spot for an hour or so, until it doubles.
04 - Divide the dough into 12 even pieces and roll each piece into a neat ball. Arrange on a tray lined with parchment paper, cover with a kitchen towel, and let them rest for another 15-20 minutes.
05 - Start preheating your oven to 350°F (180°C) while the buns rest.
06 - Using a medium-sized bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until it’s smooth and creamy. Scoop the mixture into a piping bag with a plain nozzle.
07 - Push a small well into each bun using the bottom of a flour-dusted glass. Pipe the cream cheese filling into the wells and pop a few blueberries on top. Brush the edges of the buns with the beaten egg.
08 - Bake for about 20 minutes or until their tops look nice and golden. Cool them off on a rack once they come out!
09 - Give the buns a light dusting of powdered sugar before serving, if you'd like.
