01 -
In a big mixing bowl, combine a teaspoon of sugar, warm milk (about a quarter cup), and yeast. Wait for 5 minutes until it gets bubbly and puffy.
02 -
Dump in the remaining milk, sugar, salt, egg, vanilla, flour, and soft butter. Knead for 5-7 minutes until it feels smooth and stretchy.
03 -
Put the dough into a bowl lightly coated with oil. Cover it with cling wrap and let it sit somewhere warm for an hour, so it can double in size.
04 -
Cut the dough into 12 pieces, roll them into balls, and space them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with a tea towel and wait 15-20 minutes.
05 -
Turn your oven to 350°F (180°C) while the dough balls are resting.
06 -
In a bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and egg until it’s smooth and creamy. Load it into a piping bag with nozzles.
07 -
Using a glass dipped in flour, press down on the middle of each bun to make space for the filling. Pipe the cheesy goodness into the indent, scatter blueberries on top, and brush the edges with egg.
08 -
Pop the tray into your hot oven and bake for 20 minutes until they’re golden and pretty. Move them to a wire rack to cool a bit.
09 -
Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top before serving to make them extra fancy.
