Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the peaches in half, remove the pits, and place them cut-side up on a big baking tray.

Pop a small chunk of butter in the pit cavity of every peach half.

Mix cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, salt, and cloves in a small dish. Scatter this mixture over the top of the peaches evenly.

Bake for 8-12 minutes. Peaches should be soft and a little browned at the edges when done.

Serve them warm with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream on top.
