# What You'll Need:

→ Core Ingredients

01 - 1 wheel of brie cheese
02 - 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, defrosted
03 - 2 Honeycrisp apples, cut into slices
04 - 2 tablespoons fig preserves or apple butter

→ Topping & Coating

05 - 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
06 - 3 tablespoons of salted butter
07 - 1 egg, whisked
08 - A sprinkle of coarse sugar

→ Decoration

09 - Sprigs of fresh thyme

# Directions:

01 - Set your oven to 220°C (425°F) and let it warm up.
02 - Mix the apple slices with some butter and maple syrup in a baking dish. Roast them for about 25 minutes, until they're soft and golden.
03 - Lay the puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking tray. Put the brie in the middle, and cut off a little of the top rind, leaving the base and sides untouched. Spread fig preserves or apple butter on top.
04 - Bring the pastry corners over the brie to wrap it up. Brush the outside with egg wash and sprinkle on some coarse sugar.
05 - Pop it in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry has a beautifully golden color.
06 - Add the roasted apples on top of the cooked brie. Give it a touch of thyme, and serve with crackers or just dig in as is.

# Notes:

01 - Brie's outer layer is safe to eat, but taking off the top helps the cheese melt evenly when heated.
