Set oven temperature to 200°C and allow to fully preheat.

Heat butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the thawed pork sausage, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Sauté until sausage turns golden and no longer pink throughout.

Stir in brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and chopped rosemary to the cooked sausage. Mix thoroughly and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

Using a sharp knife, score the top rind of the brie in a crosshatch pattern. Place the brie in a small ovenproof baking dish.

Evenly spoon the sausage mixture over the prepared brie. Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 16–18 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and heated through.

Remove from oven and serve immediately with crostini or pita chips while hot.
